Guaranteed to Pass your IATRA Exam on your FIRST TRY

...or your money back. (See the FAQ section for full details)

The Old Way is Overwhelming

Other exam prep courses overwhelm and bore you with too much information. Most of which aren't even on the exam.

Study and pass in less than 14 days

Pilotdmello fixed this problem by only giving you what you need to study and pass. Saving you several months of studying.

The sooner you pass your IATRA 2 crew exam, the sooner you can apply for a job as a First Officer to get paid to fly. Every month you save also counts towards a good schedule and seniority at a company.

What is the IATRA Exam?

Believe it or not, IATRA isn’t even a real acronym. It’s just a Transport Canada exam code — though I do wish they picked something a little catchier.

Enables you to apply for a Type Rating on a Two Crew Aeroplane

Must have a Commercial Pilot Licence with at least 250 hours total time

TC exam consists of 50 questions and the pass mark is 70%

Most employers demand you pass this exam before you get hired...

Why do employers want you to have this exam ready?

1

Bridges the Knowledge Gap

You can think of this exam as a knowledge gap between your CPL and ATPL. It shows the employer that you have a higher level of aviation operations understanding compared to a basic CPL holder.

2

Proves Complex Aircraft Readiness

They are training you on a complex turbine airplane, which you are not used to flying. The last thing they want to worry about is you struggling with the basic knowledge of turbine engines, reverse thrust operation, winter flying considerations, passenger regulations etc. Having this exam proves you are a knowledgeable pilot.

3

Separates You From the Pack

This is a tough exam and not everyone can pass it. The pilots who pass it are the ones who prepared the correct materials. The TC study and reference guide is too overwhelming and you must be able to tackle the TC worded exam questions. Passing this exam shows you have good study habits and may give you more points on your application.

I'm sure you've already felt this:
Writing a Transport Canada Exam can be stressful...

  • Finding free time to study is hard. There is so much subject material to learn. Not ever being sure if you studied enough.
  • Do you have to take time off work to prepare? Find transportation to the remote test centre?
  • There is too much to study. But, is it even going to be asked on the exam?
  • The Study and Reference guide issued by TC is a great tool. But, the topics listed are very general and don't exactly list where you can find the info.

The Penalty of Failure

If you fail, you will have to wait a long time to write it again.

First failure: 14 days
Second failure: 30 days
Third or subsequent:
30 days + 30 days per extra failure (Max 180 days)

Our Secret System

At pilotdmello, we have a secret system to helping pilots pass this IATRA 2 crew exam from start to finish in only 14 days.

*Assuming you get a minimum of 85% on each of our practice tests.

Here is what's included

Everything you need, and nothing you don't.

Answer Explanation Preview

Review detailed feedback and explanations for each question to understand both what the correct answer is and why it is correct.

Aerodynamics

During a balked landing (go-around) in a multi-engine aircraft, what is the most critical aerodynamic factor?

B. Maintaining minimum control speed (Vmc).
Instructor Explanation

During a balked landing, power is rapidly applied to initiate a go-around. If an engine were to fail at this critical phase—with high power settings and low airspeed—the asymmetrical thrust will induce a strong yawing and rolling moment. Maintaining Vmc is paramount to prevent loss of directional control, as dropping below Vmc can result in an unrecoverable spin before the aircraft has a chance to accelerate.

Air Law & Procedures

Under IFR, when is a two-crew aircraft required to have a functioning cockpit voice recorder (CVR)?

B. Multi-engine turbine aircraft configured for 6+ passengers.
Instructor Explanation

According to CARs (Canadian Aviation Regulations) 605.33, a Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) is required for multi-engine turbine-powered aircraft that are configured for six or more passenger seats and operated by two crew members. This regulation ensures that crew communications and ambient cockpit sounds are recorded to assist in post-accident investigation and safety analysis.

Meteorology

When a turbojet aircraft is operating at high altitudes, what is the primary danger of penetrating a severe thunderstorm?

C. Severe turbulence leading to structural damage or upset.
Instructor Explanation

While structural icing and engine flameouts are certainly hazards, the most immediate and primary danger of penetrating a severe thunderstorm at high altitudes is severe turbulence. High-altitude turbojets often operate in the "coffin corner," where the margin between stall speed and critical Mach number is narrow. The extreme updrafts and downdrafts inside a severe thunderstorm can easily upset the aircraft's attitude or exceed its structural load limits, leading to catastrophic failure before other hazards take effect.
