What is your pilot leadership style?
Mar 24, 2023The interviewer is asking this question to see which leadership style do you bring to the table. There are some good ones and one that is very bad. You can either pick one of these or combine 2 of them together.
-
Autocratic: In an autocratic leadership style, the leader makes decisions without seeking input from others. They are often authoritarian and directive in their approach, expecting strict adherence to their directives. This style is basically that of a dictator. Do not mention the one!
-
Democratic: A democratic leader values input from team members and collaborates with them to make decisions. This style is more inclusive and participative, with the leader seeking to build consensus and involve team members in the decision-making process.
-
Laissez-Faire: In a laissez-faire leadership style, the leader delegates authority and decision-making to team members. They provide little direction or guidance, allowing team members to work independently and take initiative.
-
Transformational: Transformational leaders inspire and motivate their teams to achieve a shared vision. They often use charisma, vision, and inspiration to influence their team members and foster a sense of commitment and passion for the work. Think of Steve Jobs, Barrack Obama, or Nelson Mandela.
-
Servant: Servant leaders prioritize the needs of their team members over their own interests. They focus on building relationships, empowering team members, and helping them develop their skills and potential. Think of Mahatma Gandhi or Mother Theresa.
